Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment in which a medication is injected into selected small veins, causing them to collapse and gradually fade. It is commonly used for spider veins and small varicose veins.

Patients with aching, swelling, larger varicose veins, or skin changes may need venous ultrasound first to check for underlying reflux.
